Müller was a pupil of the Dresden Academy and then he later became one of its Professors. He achieved a gold medal in Paris in 1900. The Museum of Dresden has an important work by him Meine Hunde und die Nonne des Elends. Other works by the artist can be found in Museums in Berlin, Karlsruhe, Königsberg, Leipzig and Prague.
