Like all drawings from the Bossi-Beyerlen collection, this sheet bears a pricing code on the verso generally consisting of two parts: the first gives the price in florins, such as f.1 or f.2, the second in Kreutzers, abbreviated with Xrs, followed by a number, usually 4, 12, 16, or 36. The number following the price is the Bossi-Beyerlen number.
Generally there is another number, in pencil, on the verso of Bossi-Beyerlen drawings, dating from the 19th Century. Beginning at around 385 and ending at 1178, the numbers correspond to the order of the 1882 sale in Stuttgart. It can be concluded, therefore, that the present drawing, numbered 921, was bought by Mller, as he purchased drawings with numbering from 806 to 968, most of which are now in Warsaw.
