Hans Jacob Plepp was active in Switzerland in the late 16th Century and specialized in designs for stained glass windows.
The emphasis on the left side of the sheet was standard for designs of stained glass windows as it was primarily a guide for the glassmaker. The right hand side would be applied, at the time of execution, as a mirror image of the left. The few differences which the artist intended for the right side of the window are indicated on the sheet.
