There is a pencil drawing of the same building in the Turner Bequest (T.B. XXVI-98). The present drawing dates from 1793, the year of a number of other finished watercolors of Kent, A. Wilton, The Life of J.M.W. Turner, Fribourg and London, 1979, pp. 303-4, nos. 31-5.
