Portrait of two Gentleman, bust length, one wearing a tophat and white cravat, the other wearing a red jacket

The present work seems to have been executed circa 1790-4.

We are grateful to Alain Latreille for tentatively suggesting the attribution on the basis of a photograph. He believes that the right hand figure may be a self-portrait of the artist.
