A Chinese Canton enamel sweetmeat set and matching onlaid lacquer box, 18th century
the cover with Shoulao, a deer and a bat in flight, beside a gnarled pine tree and lingzhi, the side with prunus sprigs, all onlaid with bone, mother of pearl, jade, red lacquer, coral and wood; the set enamelled with foliated floral scrolls on a yellow ground -- the box 12½in. (31.8cm.) diam.
