A Chinese famille verte desk set, circa 1740
of compressed oval form with twin lion-head handles, standing on three beast-head supports, decorated with central panels of peony sprays surrounded by lotus heads on a blue scrolling ground, the flat top with two large and smaller apertures -- 9¾in. (24.8cm) wide.
