A Chinese blue and white dish, Kangxi
painted in the centre with five foliated lotus framed by bands of foliated demi-flowerheads, the cavetto with moulded spiralling panels enclosing various floral and other motifs, and the everted lobed rim with breaking waves and demi-flowerheads and pomegranate, the reverse decorated with peony sprigs and the base with an underglaze blue ribboned lozenge mark -- 14½in. (36.9cm.) diam.
