Engraved title after the author with engraved medallion portrait of Philip of Austria on verso, 33 engraved and one woodcut medallion portrait, engraved scene of a chariot procession leaving Cremona on B3, folding plan of Cremona after David de Laude on 3 joined sheets (linen-backed), double-page map of Cremona, double-page plate of the Cathedral, woodcut initials and borders (lacking second +2, marginal tear on B4 crossing border repaired). Contemporary brown goatskin, upper cover with gilt arms of Paul Petau, spine gilt with his monogram and arms repeated (rebacked, preserving original backstrip). Provenance: Paul Petau (1568-1615), Conseiller au Parlement de Paris (arms on sides and his monogram on spine panels); William Stirling Maxwell (bookplate).
