[STOEFFLER, Johann (1452-1531).] "Tratado de el Astrolabio, en que se explica su fabrica y construccion..." Cordova?, 17th century.
Manuscript on paper, [1] 204, [4] and 24 leaves of fine pen diagrams and illustrations, some folding. 4o (207 x 151 mm). Contemporary limp vellum (hinges cracked). Provenance: Harold Edgar Gillingham (bookplate).
An unrecorded manuscript Spanish translation of the most important 16th century treatise on the astrolabe by Johann Stoeffler. The work was never published in Spanish. The drawings at end are particularly fine and suggest that the manuscript was the work of an instrument maker.
