Folio broadside (24 1/8 x 20 in.), printed in seven columns, combining text (verse, prose and patriotic slogans) and 36 assorted woodcut illustrations, most with printed captions. (Neatly backed with archival paper, small marginal repairs and a few losses at edges).

NEW ORLEANS, PLATTSBURG AND NIAGARA CELEBRATED. A striking, very elaborately conceived Vermont broadside trumpeting American military successes at the end of the War of 1812. The central portion features two celebratory poems "Sir George Prevost with all his host March'd forth from Montreal, Sir" (14 stanzas), and "Commodore McDonough's Victory" (9 stanzas). Flanking these, in the right center is another poem celebrating the victory at Lundy's Lane: "Battle of Niagara! Or, America again victorious" (14 stanzas). A large woodcut at top left depicts the city of New Orleans (boats on the river, and angel in the sky above); the imprint appears toward the bottom of the 6th column. Many of the blocks used here had evidently seen service elsewhere, illustrating primers or textbooks. McCorison, Vermont Imprints, 1709B (and related variants); Shaw & Shoemaker 37740.
