Lot Essay

The reverse is stamped "Made special 1913 for Charles Stanford." The monogram LCT in the center suggests the possibility that Louis Comfort Tiffany may have designed this piece, as he had been Director of Design at Tiffany & Co. from 1902-1910, and by 1913 was still supplying the firm with Favrile glass and jewelry.
