Baluster-form, the spot-hammered surface engraved with a dragon-fly and a snail on reeds and applied with copper and silver carps amid engraved weeds, the curved handle applied with copper and brass water-lilies, marked under base 4706/9838

By tradition, this pitcher belonged to Irene Duneau Doulton who inherited it from her grandfather Sir Henry Doulton, second son of John Doulton, founder of the ceramic manufacturing firm Doulton & Watts in England.
