A soup ladle of identical pattern also made in Savannah in 1821 is illustrated in Feay Coleman, Nostrums for Fashionable Entertainments: Dining in Georgia, 1800-1850, Telfair Academy, Savannah, 1992, 13d, p. 77. A discussion of Marquand's Savannah period and also the date letters he used there (C through G, for 1821-1826) is in James A.
