oviform with pierced ovolo cast gallery, each finely painted with a mythological view, the first after Jean Baptiste Regnault with Achilles being instructed by the centaur Chiron; the second after Guido Reni with Deianeira being abducted by the centaur Nessus, within a gilt surround, flanked by pistol scroll handles with mask terminals above a square marble base
