1998 ASTON MARTIN V8 VOLANTE

Registration No. R425 PPE
Chassis No. SCFDAM2C9WBR89007
Dark metallic green, cream leather interior with green piping

Engine: eight cylinders in Vee, 5,340cc; Gearbox: four-speed automatic; Brakes: power-assisted discs all round; independent by coil springs all round. Right hand drive.

Aston Martin's Virage had been part of a disappointing era for the company during which both sales and quality suffered, not least as a result of the downturn in the world economy. The introduction of the DB7 turned the company's fortunes around, however, and allowed the Virage to be replaced in 1996 with a new and greatly improved "V8" model. Both the coupe and the convertible retained the normally-aspirated 5.3 litre engine but adopted the more modern and aggressive styling of the Vantage, including the six-headlamp nose, round foglights and rear lights, and OZ's "Suturn" wheels. With the convertible costing upwards of £175,000 when new, exclusivity was guaranteed.

This V8 Volante was bought new by the vendor in 1998, since when it has covered a mere 4,500 miles. The interior is generally in excellent condition, although it would appear that the passenger map light is missing. The exterior is similarly very good indeed, suffering only a couple of very minor paint flaws, and evidence under the front splitter of having become briefly acquainted with a speed bump or kerb. Having been garaged since new and serviced regularly, it starts easily and runs smoothly, and is offered with a full compliment of invoices charting the work that has been done on the car.
Special notice
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 15% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
