Lombardy Tarot, circa 1840, Torino, Girolamo Montalenti, 78 of 78 cards, woodblock printed and stencil colored, square corners, faint watermark of round crowned shield of Savoy on all cards. Major Arcana and courts are full-length figures, Italian card titles, double-ended Roman numerals, Italian suits, two indices, square corners, 2 of coppe reads, FABBRICA DI GIRO MONTALENTI IN TORINO, all four aces read, MONTALENTI IN TORINO. Backs are overall geometric pattern of dots and dashes in blue. Size 4 1/4 in. (10.8 cm.) high, 2 7/16 in. (6.2 cm.) wide. Four cards contain faint black and white underprint from another deck, otherwise, almost mint. Kaplan II, 368. (2)
