Habsburger Tarock No. 146, circa 1910, Budapest, Ferd. Piatnik & Sohne, 50 of 54 cards (lacks Fool, king of spades and clubs, and ace of hearts), chromolithography, Hungarian wrapper contains banderole with 1904 date, 30 filler (valid 1904-1919), and wrapper contains U.S. 2-cent tax stamp (valid 1894-1917), over stamped for 8 cents (valid 1919-1924). Trumps, Roman numerals and courts are double-ended, featuring pairs of different European and Oriental scenes of domestic life, trump II reads, INDUSTRIE UND GLUCK, in horizontal banner instead of usual three lines on a rock, the trumps are rendered in pastel tones and portray new designs not usually found on Industrie und Gluck decks, courts depict kings as emperors, queens and cavaliers belong to the 19th century, and valets are soldiers from the Middle Ages, valet of diamonds reads, "Eigentum der Herausgeber, Nachahmung verboten," French suits, no indices, round gilt corners. Includes wrapper that reads, in part, "Legfinomabb MAGYAR-KIRALY-TAROK, PIATNIK NANDOR es Fiai, BUDAPEST, VII. ROTTENBILLER-UJCA 17, Arany sarok., .Nem moshato. Amerikai hattal, 110 sz., and banderole reads, in part, ZARJEGY A JATEKKARTYARTA, 1904, plus two illegible black ink stamps and the words O.K." Size 4 1/4 in. (10.9) cm. high, 2 3/8 in.
