Domino Bone Box, c. 1802-1815.

3.25 x 7.75 x 3.25 in. (80 x 196 x 80 mm). Rectangular bone box on wooden structure, cribbage side rails, carved feet, and a peak-shaped sliding lid. The lid consists of 4 panels framed by bone, each of which contains a watercolor image on paper under original glass. The panels depict a man, a woman, branches and arrows, and branches with a staff or cane. 6 additional panels along the sides and ends of the box also contain watercolors of a basket of flowers, two hearts surrounded by a floral border, and four tropical scenes of a town or village and palm trees. The interior holds bone dominoes.
