Architectural Dominoes or Sports and Pastimes. England (?), circa 1880s.
59 (of 60) cards in the original paper-covered wooden box with sliding lid. The ends of the cards are decorated with architectural columns colored in pink, green, purple, blue, and yellow and are illustrated with black and white scenes of children playing a variety of games. There are also 5 smaller cards, each illustrated with a different type of column that corresponds with those on the colored cards. Included are the printed instructions providing two different ways to play the game; one is much like dominoes where the player must match column types and one is a suit type game where each player must collect all the cards for one column type in order to win.
