Dial signed by William Gillespie, New London, Pennsylvania, 1750-1780
The cove-molded pediment flanked by urn finials above a rectangular molded cornice over a blind-fretwork tympanum centered and flanked by fluted and punch-decorated plinths above an arched glazed door opening to a brass dial with Roman and Arabic chapter rings enclosing a sweep seconds ring, calendar aperture and signed "Wm. Gillespie, New London" with cast-brass spandrels surmounted by a floral-engraved rondel flanked by cut-brass spandrels, all flanked by freestanding colonettes above a coved mid-molding over a waisted case fitted with an arched rectangular door above a rectangular box base, on a molded base with pendant drop and straight bracket feet, restorations to tympanum and dial
