Tous deux de forme hexagonale, la tasse légèrement tulipée, à décor, en très léger relief sur chacune des faces, de pêche et chauve-souris, pivoine, feuille de bananier et sceptre ruyi, lotus, branche de cerisier, le dernier côté rehaussé de deux cachets Jixiang ruyi (Voeu de Bon Souhait) ; le porte-tasse comportant un piedestal au centre, sculpté du caractère shou, entouré d'une frise de grecques ; l'ensemble reposant sur un socle impérial en zitan et ivoire teinté vert (quelques éléments d'ivoire remplacés)

The present lot is elegantly and plainly decorated to best show off the superb quality of the stone which is evenly white and flawless for the cup. Some related examples, although more elaborated, are kept in the King Court Collection and illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum - Jadeware (III), Hong Kong 1995, pp.250-251, pl. 205 and 206 ; for the stand see the one from the Gerald Godefrey Private Collection of Fine Chinese Jades, sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 30 October 1995, lot 909 ; compare also the current set to a close example of both cup and cup-stand sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 29 and 30 April 2001, lot 538
