La panse ornée d'un large registre à décor de rinceaux feuillagés et lotus, le pied rehaussé de pétales stylisés, l'épaulement d'une guirlande de ruyi à motif de fungus, le col orné de trois bandes de volutes fleuries, feuilles de bananiers et spirales, l'anse terminée par une partie moulée en forme de ruyi et rehaussée de certains Objets Précieux, le bec agrémenté de flammes et nuages ; le bec réduit, l'anse et l'attache du bec cassées et recollées, petite partie manquante sur l'anse

Compare the current example to other blue and white ewers from the Topkapi Saray Museum in Istanbul, illustrated in R. Krahl, Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul, 'A Complete Catalogue, vol.II, Yuan and Ming Dynasty Porcelains', Sotheby's Publications, London 1986, p.443 and pp.544-545.
The ewers illustrated, dated late 15th/early 16th century, are of the same shape, decorated with the same kind of lotus flower scrolls, ruyi handle with emblems and leaves on the neck. The closest examples are pls. 663 and 664.
