RARE PLAT EN PORCELAINE WUCAI
CHINE, DYNASTIE MING, MARQUE A SIX CARACTERES ET EPOQUE WANLI (1573-1619)
Décoré au centre de cinq dragons dans un cartouche polylobé, l'un supportant un bassin rempli de fruits, entouré de quatre autres dragons, deux tenant une svastika, les derniers entourant les caractères wan et shou ("dix mille ans de longue vie"), le pourtour orné de phénix dans des cartouches sur fond de svastikas, le revers décoré en bleu de médaillons de fleurs, marque à six caractères dans un double cercle de l'Empereur Wanli à la base ; accident à la bordure

Lot Essay

A related Wanli-marked dish with an ascending dragon supporting a similar basin and surrounded with four further dragons within a bracket lobed panel is included in the Illustrated Catalogue of Tokyo National Museum, Chinese Ceramics II, 1990, no. 344.
