De forme ovoïde, recouvert d'une belle glaçure céladon pâle, deux petites anses en forme de croissants de lune moulées en léger relief de part et d'autre de la panse, marque à six caractères en cachet de l'Empereur Qianlong à la base ; couvercle manquant ; boîte en bois

Lot Essay

This type of jar can be called ri yue guan ("sun-and-moon-jar"), the cover representing the sun and the crescents the moon, or yueya er guan ("jar with crescent moon handles"). A similar celadon jar and cover with Qianlong mark is illustrated in Liu Liang-yu, Ch'ing Official and Popular Wares, A Survey of Chinese Ceramics, vol.5, Taipei 1991, p.196
