YACHTING INTEREST: A SUITE OF THREE LATE VICTORIAN SILVER FRUIT DISHES,
MARK OF JAMES DIXON & SONS, SHEFFIELD, 1900,
Of quatrefoil boat shape, pierced with heart-shaped fretwork panels, scrolls & foliage, with border of flowers & bead-edged "C" scrolls, raised on four bifurcated legs with shells at top, the larger dish 12 in. long (30.8 cm.), the smaller pair 9½ in.long (24 cm.), the latter pair inscribed "Queenstown Regatta.1900", the larger one inscribed "R.C.Y.C. The Gould Prize.1900", 45.25 oz. (3)
