A GEORGE II IRISH ROCOCO COFFEE POT,
MARK OF WILLIAM TOWNSEND, DUBLIN, CIRCA 1758,
The tapering sides chased with putti, wild fowl amidst bullrushes, architecture, fruit, shells, scrolls, flowers & foliage, the scalloped spout terminating at base in a shell motif directly above a bizarre mask, the cover chased with a border of flowers & fruit & capped with an artichoke finial, maker's mark, Hibernia & crowned harp to side, crowned harp to rim of cover, 9¾ in. high (25 cm.), 28.75 oz.
