The upper part terminating in ogee form and topped by a cross, is the actual reliquary. Once the hinged door opens the square cavity and the small drawer, which originally would have contained the relics, become apparent. The front side of the ciborium is engraved with the Crucifixion and the placement of Christ'sbody on the tombstone. The bottom of the base is inscribed in Russian. 10 5/8 x 5 7/8 in. (27 x 14.25 cm)
