Levels: ten bottom neck, two top shoulder; lightly bin soiled labels, two slightly oxidized capsules, one with slight signs of old seepage, one torn label
Ridge had one "scant" acre of this variety planted at Monte Bello in the 1940s. The 1974 vintage produced a "heavy" crop and to insure an even primary fermentation and secondary malolactic fermentation 10 of the Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon must was added. Bottled in October 1976 with 13.4 alcohol by volume.

Ruby Cabernet is a red wine grape created in 1936 by Dr. Harold Olmo at UC Davis. It is a cross of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. The intention was to combine the latter's heat tolerance with Cabernet Sauvignon's quality.
