"Fantastically complex nose of violets, spice, earth, secondary nuances of underbrush and the barest hints of sous bois followed by remarkably fine and pure, velvety, rich flavors that dance across the palate and the length here is simply phenomenal. This is not quite as rich as the '64 but it is decidedly finer, more elegant and more complex as well. One of the finest vintages I have ever tasted for this wine and it, for once, can go toe to toe with the La Tache. Reference standard juice of reverential quality." BH 2003
