"I have been fortunate to drink the 1969 Bonnes Mares four times and it is unquestionably a great wine. A big, smoky, roasted, sweet, meaty nose is followed by a full-bodied, moderately tannic, rich wine with profound depth and a long, spicy, herbaceous finish. There are gobs of extract, and the intense, gamey, animal side of Pinot Noir makes its presence felt.
