Lot Essay

The molded overhanging top together with the cyma-shaped brackets, pendants and stop-fluted legs create a bold, architectonic design reflecting the design preferences Rhode Island. A closely related table with similar stop-fluted legs and overhanging top sold at Sotheby's, New York, June 23, 1988, lot 356, another is illustrated in Sack, American Antiques from the Isarel Sack Collection, vol.
