See G. Haase, Dresdener Möbel, Leipzig, 1993, p. 336, 337 for several illustrations of chairs with similar design. Especially the arched back centred by a carved shell, flanked by floral-trails and flowerheads is a well-known pattern in Dresdener cabinetmaking.
