Carved within a conforming panel with a reclining hermit reading a book in a pavilion erected in a lake, under a gnarled tree trunk growing from nearby rocks, a small fishing boat moored by the distant shore, carrying a man playing a flute, the panel surrounded by a variety of blossoms and leaves repeated on the reverse
