with golden mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, remains of black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limb and hump, circa 1910 --28in. (71cm.) high (left ankle split, holes to tip of muzzle, hand pads missing, feet pads recovered, stuffing shifted at top of body, thinning to top of head, some general wear and fading, missing nose and mouth stitching)

This bear belonged to the vendor's mother, Vera Freenman Winter, she was born in July 1910, the youngest of nine children, one brother being Fred Winter, the National Hunt trainer and jockey.
Some of the brothers were in the 1st World War, Ted was bought back by one of the brothers, travelling through France and Germany, to be given to Vera.
