Provenance
The provenance for Bruno is slightly confusing because at some stage of his life the original Bruno was swapped for this Steiff Bruno.
The original owner Mildred Mary Henlyn? Noel born in 1904, is photographed holding a Farnell bear aged about two and the Steiff replacement Noel is dated circa 1910. It is not known why this happened.
Bruno's first birthday was in 1906 and in 1929 when Mildred married, he became Bruno Noel-Irwin. In 1939 he joined the army as a captain, some time later he unexpectedly came into a Baronetsy, so you now meet him as Lt. Colonel Sir Bruno Noel-Irwin.
