Large engraved woodcut on title, 116 (of 118) woodcut illustrations in text. (Incomplete, lacks A8, P6, Q1 and Q8 [colophon], large hole in H5 affecting woodcut, a few wormholes throughout). Contemporary blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards, single brass clasp (catch missing, slightly bowing). Provenance: several 16th century mottos dated 1539, 1558 and 1559 in Latin, Hebrew, German, Greek and Italian; purchased from E. Gallery 9 April 1958.
