330 x 210 mm. MANUSCRIPT ON PAPER. 289 leaves. Four hand-colored woodcuts of the evangelists facing each section, headpieces and some decorated initials, in red and black, paginated in Cyrillic. (Some occasional pale dampstaining and wear to sheet edges.) 16th-century North German blind-stamped calf, the front cover with scene of the Crucifixion painted in gesso, in red, blue, green, black and brown, of Eastern European origin (painting rubbed and with paint flaked off, some wear to joints, lacks clasps). Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 2 November 1953.
