232 x 188 mm. 10 pages, first and last page blank. Title page in red and black ink, roman lettering, with 1-inch decorative scroll borders on all sides, drawn in pen and ink. Facing page depicts Christ on the cross, against a background or red and black scroll design, above a Biblical quotation from First Letter to the Corinthians. Two additional full page, pen-and-ink drawings at the end of the text: one showing a river scene populated with numerous ships, with the background showing a tranquil village scene of a passing carriage and people conversing; the second shows a large castle upon a hill, with a village at the foot of the hill, and numerous boats coming into a harbor. 20th century light-brown levant morocco by Riviere; half morocco chemise and slipcase.

A SEQUENCE OF 17 PRAYERS AND MEDITATIONS INTENDED FOR CANDIDATES FOR ORDINATION into the clergy, alternating scriptural readings with commands for reflection and self-examination.
