Contemporary red goatskin by the Samuel Mearne bindery for CHARLES II, covers with double gilt-ruled border, spine in seven compartments with six raised bands, gilt-lettered in one compartment, the others with the crowned Royal cypher, edges gilt (light rubbing and a few minor scatches). Provenance: CHARLES II (binding); Helmingham Library (ink stamp on title); purchased from Harry A. Levinson, 9 July 1956.
