Wash cartouche in vol. 2 with author's name, place and date, other watercolor and wash headpieces and diagrams in vol. 2, each section divider and headpiece calligraphically titled. Contemporary uniform speckled calf, vol. 2 with colored engravings of a Red-Bird and finch mounted on pastedowns. Provenance: purchased from Harry A. Levinson, 1953.
Bonner's is a very fine 18th-century hand, and his calligraphic and watercolor decoration greatly enhance the quality of his exercises. (2)
