Contemporary German red velvet, covers fitted with rococo gilt metal frames, partially chased, large central enameled plaques decorated with battle scenes, enameled leaf work throughout central design, smaller enameled designs at the corners with various rural scenes, the gilt frame enhanced with small enamel dots (some missing), edges gilt, green gilt silk endleaves (some light rubbing); contemporary decorated paper pull-off case. Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 31 October 1960.
