[SCHRAUBTALER]. Screw-medal. A Short History in Miniature of the Origin and Progress of the late War from its Commencement to the Exchange of the Ratification of Peace between Great Britain, France and Spain, on the 10th of Feb. 1763. [London?, ca. 1763].

48 mm diameter. 54 circular miniature prints some on rectos and versos others on rectos only with engraved text on verso (discs are now detached from each other, probably incomplete); within brass medal, one with the portrait of George II, the other with a portrait of Georg III; housed in a velvet-linted leather case (worn). Provenance: purchased from Chiswick Book Shop, 13 November 1957.

This history covers events between 1758 and 1762 and affairs in North America are mentioned in several places. The design of this Screw-medal is very similar to the German Schraubtaler, and English versions are excedingly rare.
