ALIBERT, Jean Louis (1768-1837). Éloges historiques composés pour la Société Médicale de Paris. Paris: Crapart, Caille et Ravier, 1806.
8o (198 x 123 mm). Contemporary blue quarter morocco elaborately gilt, with a semé design of Napoleonic bees, each side with a different bee stamp, within a gilt floral rool toll border, flat spine, gilt edges (minor rubbing). Provenance: Emil Offenbacher, 2 January 1959.
An unusual Napoleonic binding, without the characteristic "N" or the imperial arms on sides, presumably a presentation copy presented to Napoleon by Alibert. The eulogies are on Spallanzani, Galvani and Roussel.
