ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM, 12 leaves plus 3 blank fly-leaves each at front and back, on linen guards, written in a fine upright semi-gothic hand in black, lines repeating title in red, the first within a full ornamental border with portrait of the Lady of Shalott and view of Camelot after J.W. Waterhouse, the second within full ornamental border incorporating a view of Shalott and portrait of the knight, the final two with elaborate ornamental borders, the last with view of the Lady in her boat, numerous finely illuminated initials, many with extensions, 1 with portrait of the Lady at bottom; the decoration in blue, various shades of purple, green, brown and violet, all in stylized floral and foliate design and lavishly heightened with gold.

A JEWELED BINDING SET WITH 1 GARNET, 4 OPALS AND MOTHER-OF-PEARL, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, blue levant morocco, richly gilt covers with elaborate gilt and interlace red inlaid strapwork border, surrounding central oval panel with 1 garnet surrounded by 4 opals on a richly gilt-dotted ground, back cover with similar design with a round and 4 heart-shaped pieces of mother of pearl incorporated in the central design, spine in three compartments, gilt-lettered longitudinally in one, a gilt panel in the remaining, board edges with single gilt fillet, brown morocco doublures gilt, tan water silk linings (small tear to front silk lining, otherwise in generally fine condition).

The colophon statement reads: "This manuscript, 'The Lady of Shalott,' by Alfred Lord Tennyson, was designed, written out, and illuminated by Alberto Sangorski, London anno domini one thousand nine hundred and eight. The miniatures in title and end pages are taken from the pictures by J.W. Waterhouse, R.A."
