Designed as a miniature book, unfolding to reveal a series of openwork rectangular gold links, spelling Souvenir, each end terminating with an engraved gold rectangular plaque, the clasp designed as a half-domed cylinder, set with a row of half seed pearls and two rows of old mine-cut diamonds, with black enamel foliate motifs, circa 1865.
