[SILVER BOX -- PERPETUAL CALENDAR.] Silver book cover, German, mid 17th century.

115 x 75 mm. The sides with pierced and engraved design of scrolling leaves, each side with two movable silver disks at center which constitute a perpetual calendar for feast days and holy days, the binding converted at a later date into a box by the insertion of silver interlocking sides. Provenance: purchased from Emil Offenbacher, 5 April 1958.
