17TH CENTURY, PROBABLY DERUTA
The central moulded medallion painted with Cupid playing the mandolin flanked by two collared hounds in a landscape, within concentric bands of foliate ornament, one with winged female creatures at intervals, the border with a continuous woodland scene with dogs, fowl, hares and tortoises, the reverse with large blue vitruvian scrolls (broken through and discreetly restored, some breaks with small filled areas, chipping to rim and edge of central medallion)
Approximately 17 in. (43 cm.) diam.
