A MEISSEN CIRCULAR DISH AFTER A CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE ORIGINAL AND TWO SIMILAR CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE PLATES
THE MEISSEN EXAMPLE CIRCA 1735, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS AND DREHER'S V TO FOOTRIM, THE CHINESE KANGXI (1662-1722) EXAMPLES EARLY 18TH CENTURY
Painted with a central circular landscape panel within a turquoise band of half-flowerheads with three circular panels of stylised chrysanthemum heads within a band of gilt scrollwork, the rim with an orange band with gilt leaves and flowerheads reserved with four panels of flowerheads and blue and turquoise scrolls, gilt line rim, the underside loosely painted in iron-red with two sprays of flowers and an insect (chip to rim approx. 2cm. long and two slight rim chips, some rubbing to well), the Chinese examples similar (both with hairline cracks to centre and slight rim chips)
The Meissen example 12½ in. (31.8 cm.) diam., the Chinese examples 8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) diam.
