The Kadir Cup is the highest honour in the sport of pig sticking, hunting for wild pig whilst riding horse back or on an elephant, armed only with a lance. It demands great skill and horsemanship and presents a great risk to those participating. Maurice Halifax Bates (1898-1925) won the event in 1923 and also competed in 1924 and 1925.
